Forth’s under-13s keep Wexford flag flying
FORTH CELTIC’S under-13 high-flyers kept the Wexford flag flying in Saturday’s SFAI Skechers Cup when travelling to Thomastown United and advancing to the last 32 of the prestigious competition.
The home side took a first half lead before a Thomastown defender deflected Alfie Jeffers’ cross to his own net for the equaliser.
Second half strikes from Conor Mullan and Paul Coggins put Celtic in the driving seat with Thomastown pulling one back before the end to leave the final scoreline 3-2 in the Wexford team’s favour.
Along with advancing to the last 32 in the SFAI Cup, the Murrintown boys now play Hanover Harps away in the Regional Cup semi-final.
Thomastown will be marking their 50th anniversary next year but last weekend it was Forth who were celebrating with their under-13s joining the club’s under-12s in the last 32 of the national cup competition.
Moyne Rangers were also in action in Saturday’s U13 SFAI Skechers Cup fourth round when playing away to Waterford’s Villa FC, but the Enniscorthy boys went down on a 4-0 scoreline with Conor McCabe (2), David Igwe and Evan O’Mahoney the Villa goal scorers.

·      A VERY important Wexford Schoolboys League delegate meeting will be held in The Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola, on Thursday night of this week, November 29th, commencing at 7.45 pm.
All the Schoolboys Cup draws will be held on the night and clubs who have more than one team in the same age group must have their panels in before the draw. Clubs are reminded that trophies won in last season’s League and Cup competitions from U12 to U16 should be returned at the meeting. (The U11 Cup (Jack Carthy Cup) only is to be returned in that age group. Clubs who won divisional titles at U11 need not return their trophies).
Delegate(s) attending are also asked to have the full understanding of their representative club's stance on summer soccer for the meeting.

·      Best of luck to the Wexford Schoolboys League teams involved in SFAI Subway Championship games this weekend.
The Wexford under-13s are at home to Carlow with Curracloe the venue at 2.00. while the under-15s play away to Carlow at New Oak Boys ground, with kick-off at 1.30pm.
·      There was plenty of Wexford Schoolboys League action last weekend - check out all the results and league tables on the website. The U10, U12, U14 and U16 age groups return to action on Saturday next.

Congratulations to Belvedere who beat Wexford in the Final of the Tracie Lawlor Memorial Cup Final 2017
