Wexford under-15s make long trip to Donegal a winning one
Wexford’s under-15s made last weekend’s long trip to Donegal for their SFAI Inter League Cup quarter-final a winning one when beating the home side 2-0.
Conor Donoghue and Matthew Bergin were the Slaneysiders’ marksmen and they will now face Waterford B, who beat Midlands 2-1 in the other last-eight game, in the national semi-final on the weekend of May 28th/29th.
The Wexford team played a high pressing game from the kick-off on Sunday, which required a huge effort from all involved, and they were deserving winners against a strong Donegal side.
If Wexford are successful in their last-four game they will play the winners of Waterford A and Galway in the final.
The Wexford under-12s took on Cork A in the SFAI Bowl quarter-final at St. Josephs, Kilmuckridge on Sunday afternoon but a very talented Rebel County side ran out 2-0 winners despite the best efforts of the home team.
Wexford’s under-16s will be in action in the SFAI Inter League Bowl semi-final against Cavan/Monaghan at St. Josephs, Kilmuckridge on Sunday next with kick-off at 2pm.
The winners will then go on to face Limerick Desmond or Clare in the final
